Faith-Informed • Evidence-Based • Professionally Accredited

The Nehemiah Birthing Project Inc. (TNBP) is a nonprofit educational organization that promotes professional doula and maternal-child health training and services in Maryland and Arkansas. Through the Redemptive Childbirthâ„  Doula Certification curriculum, general training program, and community-based services, we aim to improve maternal and infant outcomes by blending faith-informed values with evidence-based practice and interprofessional collaboration.

Responding to a Maternal Health Crisis

Maternal mortality and postpartum complications in the United States remain among the highest in developed nations, with a disproportionate impact on Black mothers and underserved communities.

Research consistently demonstrates that continuous support during pregnancy, birth, and recovery improves maternal and infant outcomes.

The Nehemiah Birthing Project was established to increase access to trained doulas and formal maternal education in communities where support is most needed.
