OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Philosophy of Redemptive Childbirthâ„

Faith-Informed • Evidence-Based • Interprofessionally Aligned

Redemptive Childbirthâ„  is grounded in the conviction that birth is both a physiologic process and a deeply human experience. Our philosophy integrates evidence-based practice with a faith-informed understanding of human dignity, informed choice, and collaborative care.

Foundational Framework

Redemptive Childbirth integrates clinical evidence, interdisciplinary collaboration, spiritual formation, and a commitment to maternal dignity.

Our foundational framework affirms physiologic birth, informed birth choice, and access to doula support for all women, within a collaborative model of maternal healthcare.

This integration sets the standard for our operational and evidence-informed doula care.

Affirmations & Attestations

Physiologic Birth & Medical Care

We affirm childbirth as a natural and physiological process that generally requires minimal intervention, while recognizing that appropriate medical care must remain accessible when needed. Birth is both a physiological event and an essential human experience.

Our approach combines evidence-based practice with a faith-informed understanding of birth, dignity, responsibility, and relational well-being, promoting optimal maternal outcomes. (Titus 2:3–4; Matt. 9:12 NIV)

We affirm that families should be prepared to approach birth with confidence, informed decision-making, and spiritual grounding, while doulas work collaboratively and respectfully with physicians, nurses, and midwives within

a care model.

Universal Access & Doula Support

Every woman deserves access to doula support regardless of her medical condition, diagnosis, socioeconomic status, or perceived barriers to care. (Matt. 9:12; Luke 1:38)

Informed Choice & Birth Setting

A woman should labor and deliver in an environment where she feels safest and most supported. We respect informed choice, whether birth takes place at home with a licensed midwife, in a birth center, or in a hospital (I Tim. 2:15).

Comprehensive Education & Informed Decisions

Women deserve a thorough education about all birth rights. Our doulas assist families in making informed choices without coercion, undue influence, or biased opinions. (2 Tim. 3:16, Col. 2:8)

INTERPROFESSIONAL ALIGNMENT

We do not reject medical science, nor do we position faith in opposition to clinical practice.

Instead, we view professional medicine, midwifery, and doula support as complementary roles within a collaborative maternal health system.
